Indikace
POLYSITE implantable ports allow repeated and prolonged access to the venous system.
POLYSITE implantable ports are used to administer chemotherapy, antibiotics and antiviral drugs. They can also be used for parenteral nutrition, collection of blood samples and transfusion of blood or blood products. All POLYSITE references can be used for pressure injection of contrast media during CT procedures (compatible with high pressure injectors, cf IFU Chap. USE AND MAINTENANCE part. INJECTION OF CONTRAST MEDIA DURING CT SCAN PROCEDURES).
The POLYSITE ECHO placement kits are used in the same indications and consist of instrumentation suitable for placement of implantable ports by echo-guided puncture (see chap. INSERTION TECHNIQUES).

Adult venous implantable port with peelable introducer (7Fr or 8Fr) and CIV-Flex Echoset.Two types of implantable port existing:
- Mini implantable port with catheter to connect in silicone (codes VPE3007ECHO and VPE3008ECHO) or in polyurethane (code VPE3017ECHO).
- Mini implantable port with a pre-connected catheter in silicone (codes VPE3107ECHO and VPE3108ECHO).
Each Echo-guided placement kit Polysite ECHO contains:
1 - A pouch containing:
- One titanium and POM (polyoxymethylene) Mini port with a silicone septum,
- One 60cm XRO silicone or polyurethane catheter. Graduation every cm with a numbered marking every 5cm from 5 to 40cm,
- Two connection rings (only one for pre-connected references) with a Phynox thread containing nickel,
- One straight Huber needle - 22G,
- One vein pick,
- For all non-pre-connected references, one flushing connector pre-connected to the catheter,
- One peelable introducer - 17cm,
- One 10ml syringe,
- One Raulerson metallic guidewire introducer,
- One J guidewire with thumbfeed J straightener graduated every 10cm (0.035’’ – 60mm),
- One echogenous puncture needle - 18G – 70mm useable length,
- One tunneler Ø 2.5 mm – Length 23cm.
2 - A CIV-FLEX Echoset containing:
- One latex-free guidance probe sheath 14 x 147cm,
- One sterile ultrasound gel pouch,
- Two supporting elastic straps for the protective cover,
- One sterile drape.
